Steven Morrison is the former chief executive of Granada plc, the largest and most successful commercial television company in the UK. He has been widely praised for his role as the key driving force behind Granada's years of transition from a North West regional television station to Europe's largest commercial programme producer and the largest broadcaster of ITV.

The National Film School's very first graduate, Steve's career began as a journalist with BBC Scotland. In 1974, he joined Granada where he went on to hold a number of senior positions including managing director Granada Television (1993) and managing director LWT (1994).

In 1996, Steve was appointed chief executive of Granada Media and finally the chief executive of Granada plc in 2001. Steve has also utilised his knowledge and expertise when he chaired a Government Task Force on e-learning in 2002

Steve's experience within the media is unrivalled. As well as his obvious management and business skills Steve is an accomplished producer with Cracker, Prime Suspect and Cold Feet to his credit. His links to the industry and innovative approach mean his expertise is often in demand and will add strength to the DA strategy.

"I am delighted to join the advisory board of the DA Group. I believe the company is well placed with a range of exciting products and technologies which will benefit from the development of multi media communication. Digital citizens will need digital services and DA Group is well placed to provide them."
